The Full Story

Looking back, I realized that many of the defining moments in my life did not make sense while I was living them. I began my studies in Accounting and Economics, never imagining that nursing would become my life's work. In many ways, nursing was a practical decision born out of circumstance. Yet, beneath that decision was a deeper story. Having watched both of my grandmothers become ill without understanding what they were experiencing, I carried an unanswered curiosity about health, illness, and the human experience.

That curiosity remained quiet until one remarkable nursing instructor changed the way I viewed learning. She didn't simply teach content; she made complex ideas understandable and relevant. For the first time, I found myself studying to understand rather than studying to pass. Curiosity became more than an interest. It became the driving force behind pursuing my RN, then my master's degree, and eventually a PhD in Nursing Research.

Reflection helped me recognize that every experience, even those I hadn't chosen, was shaping the person I was becoming.

Curiosity opened the door. Alignment made it possible to keep walking through it.

As my education progressed, so did life's demands. I was raising young children, working, pursuing doctoral studies, and fulfilling family and community responsibilities. The challenge wasn't a lack of motivation. It was a lack of alignment. A conversation with my cousin introduced me to a simple principle: Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance. At first, it sounded familiar but insignificant. Later, when overwhelm became impossible to ignore, those words took on new meaning. Planning became more than managing a calendar. It became a way of organizing my attention, protecting my energy, and making intentional decisions about what truly mattered. Instead of reacting to every demand, I began responding with purpose. I discovered that clarity creates capacity, and alignment creates space for growth. I learned that many of the answers we seek begin with paying closer attention to ourselves.

Thriving did not arrive because life became easier. It emerged because I began living with greater awareness and intention, and I stayed consistent. As I reflected more deeply and aligned my actions with my values, I started to notice changes. I was more present with my family and more engaged in my work. I felt more connected to myself, too. My mind felt less cluttered, my decisions became clearer, and I experienced a sense of peace that came from living intentionally rather than constantly reacting. Those experiences became the foundation of Reflexivity Wellness & Coaching.

RWC was created to help others do the same.

Our work is grounded in a simple belief: well-being is not achieved by adding more to your life. It begins by understanding yourself more deeply, aligning your choices with what matters most, and building sustainable practices that allow you to flourish over time.
